Chetco Bar Fire Air Quality Outlook September 3, 2017 9am (Chetco Bar Fire Wildfire)

Outlook for Chetco Bar Air Quality Smoke: Extreme smoke impacts continue to be seen in local communities surrounding the Chetco Bar Fire, including Brookings, Gold Beach, Agness and Cave Junction. Heavy smoke continues to drain and settle in valleys and low-lying areas. Unhealthy to Hazardous air quality levels are expected in association with reduced visibility along Highways 101, 199 and other local roadways. Coastal areas North of the fire, such as Gold Beach, should see improvement this afternoon with Northwest winds developing; it is possible Brookings and Agness may see some improvement late this afternoon.
